{Gotta See} Amazing Food Blog: Waiting for Gateau

I stumbled upon this site that was sooooo amazing that I had to post about it. It's Called Waiting for Gateau While browsing through amazing photos of their recipes I read that they was trying to preserve their family recipes and that is so great. I think you're going to like how basic but delicious these recipes are.....meaning they don't have an overwhelming amount of ingredients and are easy to put together. I can't wait to make the peach pie with the streusel topping, and then there's the tarts and the cookies and the savory recipes. Take a look below and I think you'll agree with me that Chris is an amazing baker.

The first recipe I tried was this yummy frosting recipe. We were making our Easter cookies and I wanted a spectacular frosting and that is exactly what I got. You'll be surprised at the ingredients that make it such a smooth and creamy frosting. Your sugar cookies are going to be so delicious!  Below are some recipes that I know you are going to have to try. Bon Appetit!

 philadelphia-style ice cream
french style frozen custard
fresh peach sorbet
old-fashioned ice cream sandwiches

 streusel-topped fruit pie
no-fail pie dough
seasonal fruit pie w/ variations
strawberry shortcake

"cold-oven" pound cake
grandma's "tipsy" cake
ton-of-fudge cake
sticky toffee cake (sticky toffee pudding)

There are many more wonderful recipes on this site. Chris says he will be releasing an  E-Cookbook this October and I can hardly wait. Check back every week for the Recipe of the Week.  This last week was a yummy chocolate chip cookie.  Check out all the categories they have. I'm sure to find something you'll want to make right away. Click HERE to go directly to "Waiting for Gateau"

that we hope will help you plan your next party, whether its spring,
summer, winter or fall.  We like to post things that have
tutorials....no sense showing you something cute and then
not telling you how to make it!  Hope you find something
you'd like to use at your next celebration

At any Lego Party, I'm sure this cake would be the
 focal point-Isn't it amazing! SOURCE

This peanut butter banana french toast
would be so great for a get-to-together for breakfast or brunch. Looks yummy
SOURCE and RECIPE

This will be one dessert your party guests
will  remember!  Vanilla ice cream served inside a hollowed out apple and
topped with caramel sauce. Yeah, you've got this!  SOURCE

Fruit Pizza is a sneaky way to get kids
to eat fruit...yeah I know it's atop a sugary cookie....oh well...you do what
you can. Perfect for a summer celebration. People will definitely be impressed.

Check out the Elmo Veggie Plate and
Is that Grover in the back?  They are adorable. Love the cupcakes too
(That's an Oreo cookie as a mouth)  Click HERE to see more photos
from this darling Sesame Street Party.

These cupcake holders would be perfect
for any Spring party including Easter. Very cute for a Baby Shower too.
If you're not a Cricut person then make your own template up.

Instead of just putting a glass jar
of apple cider out....put a ring of apples around it. Such a simple idea
but it looks so nice.  SOURCE

Thinking of having a Monster Themed Birthday Party? Well Annie of "Annie's Eats" will teach
you how to make these fun cupcakes--She's Brilliant!
The Kids will love them!  SOURCE and RECIPE

Rainbow Sprinkles make anything fun
especially these homemade marshmallows (You could actually
do this and use regular marshmallows on a stick)

Hand out hugs and kisses to everyone
as they are leaving the party.
Don't these look delicious and these you won't have
to make.  Williams Sonoma

then you've got to make these football pizza pockets! SOURCE and RECIPE

Three good things (at least)
about these Rice Krispies Cakes:  (1) These look delicious
(2) Perfect party dessert (3) And  can be made up to 2
days in advanced and refrigerated!  SOURCE and RECIPE

Have a tray of these salted caramel
strawberries at your next get-together and you'll be the one they'll be talking about!

This is definitely a dessert the adults will appreciate. It looks amazing! It's a copycat recipe for the Hershey
Chocolate Bar Cheesecake  from the Cheesecake Factory. I'm thinking
a small slice will be all that's necessary and I'm sure it will be the
thing your guests talk about the next day.   Source and Recipe

Rice Krispies are a simple dessert
but I love the way they look on these skewers and wrapped in plastic!  SOURCE

....And speaking of Rice Krispies Treats
I made these up the other day and they were very good. You could
really taste the peanut butter AND the chocolate in the marshmallow treat.

{9} Pies for Thanksgiving-Large & Mini plus a Cookbook for Cutie Pies

We all have pie for thanksgiving and so I thought I'd gather up some new recipes. It's nice to follow traditions from year to year but it's also nice to change things up a bit. I'm even going to try to make the pies this year-I'm leaning towards the mini pies. You say you don't know how to make pie crust? Well, there's a tutorial for that below

You CAN make your own pie crust, and it will be easy once you get over the fear.  Find this recipe Here

Need a pie crust video/tutorial?  Here's a video showing the step-by-step process for making Pie Crust from Ina Garten.  She makes it look soooo Easy! (She's making the apple pie recipe that's shown below)
Here's the Apple Pie recipe shown in the video above from Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa-Foodnetwork.com) It's a deep dish apple pie that looks wonderful.  Get the recipe Here

Then there's the pumpkin pie recipe from Williams Sonoma  I love the cutouts they have put around the edge.  You  can pick them up at Williams Sonoma.

Here's a different kind of pumpkin pie--Pumpkin ice cream pie.  Find the recipe Here

These mini cherry pies look yummy and are just the right size!  Find the recipe Here

Try this mini peach pie. Yum-O  Find the recipe Here

This is called Mile-High Lemon Meringue. We always have to get a lemon meringue pie for our Thankgiving.  Find this recipe Here

Betty Crocker calls this pie "Impossibly Easy Pumpkin Pie"  The name says it all.  Get the recipe Here

This Pecan Pie recipe is from the Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond. It looks out of this world!  Get the recipe Here

Here's a newly released cookbook featuring pies in a jar or a muffin tin. What a great idea. Make individual pies for your family and friends. It will allow you to make several different types of pie without making one large pie of each flavor.  For our Thanksgiving we have specific pies that we have to buy.....you know, everyone has their favorite. And we always have so much pie leftover. This will solve that problem.  The author, Dani Cones, was on Martha Stewart on October 3rd. Here is that Video  She also shares the recipe for her peach pie that she makes in a muffin tin.  Bite sized pies are great because you can sample more than one kind of pie and not over due it.  Now I'm sure you're going to want to purchase the book so here is a link to Amazon.com where you can pick up a copy. I'm getting one!

This is the year that you tackle the project you've been wanting to do----making pies.... Let's do it together.....Yeah, You've Got This!
