EyeBall Halloween Door Decoration-Super Simple and So FUN!!!

And now we are fully decorated and ready for Halloween.  The Haunted Mansion sign out front is up every year! The vinyl is available in our Etsy shop so you can make one too. Click here to see our blog post that tells how we made the sign.  The door decoration is new as of today. It was so much fun to do and we didn't have to buy anything……already had all the supplies.

We used a 3", 2", 1.5", ¾" and ½" round paper punch to make the different sized eyeballs.  You can use whatever size punch you have.  We added in the Halloween messages using lime green scrapbook paper. I was going to use black butcher paper, which I would have had to go out and buy, but my daughter said, "Why don't you use a black plastic tablecloth"  I already had one in my Halloween box unopened and ready to use. YEA!!! 

The black plastic tablecloth was perfect!  It clung to the door immediately and made it so easy to place and cut to size. It measured 108" long and 54" wide.  I glued the eyes on the eyeballs with a glue stick and then used double-sided tape on the back of the eyes.  The tape did a great job of keeping the eyes on the tablecloth but we could still take them off and move them around when we were designing it. We used the double-sided tape to put the lettering on too. Super Simple! 

Whatever size eyeballs you use will be perfect. Use your imagination and make the design truly yours.  We used white and black cardstock for the eyes and lime green for the lettering. .You could even use google eyes if you like. They come in all different sizes from very small to large. 

Cutting out the hole for the door nob was kind of tricky and we had to stabilize the area round the door knob so we used black electrical tape for that area and to stick it to the sides of the door.  We used 60 sets of eyes for the door. Use less or more if you like.

We love putting these signs we made out in the flower garden every Halloween-Next year I think I'll change the messages on each one!

Halloween Treat Box-Snickers Candy Bars and More-So Much Fun!

And now for a fun way to give those "special people" in your life a Halloween treat.  We've designed a Halloween package that will hide the treat.......which is a Snicker's bar. If you've got some trick or treaters that are special to you then don't just give them the candy you're handing out on Halloween night.  Make this easy but fun Halloween/Snickers box.  You use your favorite Halloween paper to make these. You'll recognize the bat that we used  to wrap our Halloween book marks and also the bat garland. It's one that you can use for so many things, well worth the money.

We used double sided scrapbook paper for this project.  One side will be the box and the other side will be the tall back piece. We used black grosgrain ribbon measuring 3/4"  It looks nice and holds the candy bar inside the box. Make a Happy Halloween tag that has blank space on the left side so you can hide the end under the moon. Be sure to use foam tabs to attach the moon, bat and tag. We used the EK Success bat punch. We've added the "Thanks for coming" tag  with a black backing on the front of this one so you can use it as a party favor. One side of this paper is Halloween sheet music and the other side is a black and orange.

We've added a medallion to this one and a cute Halloween button. You'll need a scoring board to make the medallion or you could fold it yourself.  We didn't add a ribbon here because we wanted the pumpkin faces to show.  Just put a glue dot on the ends of the candy bar to keep it inside the box.  We used a larger "Happy Halloween" tag for this package.

Use double sided scrapbook paper for this project. It just makes it so cute with two different designs/papers showing. But you could use a solid piece of scrapbook paper if you like.

I love this pumpkin paper. We found it at JoAnn's. We cut out and glued the pumpkin paper to the back of this box. That's something you can do if you don't like one side of a paper you're using.  We used a "Happy Halloween" tag that is clipped in at both ends for this one and added the "thanks for coming" tag without a paper behind it. We used 3/4" grosgrain ribbon here.

Cut your favorite Halloween paper 4 1/2" x 7 1/4" and score at the 3/4", 2", 2 3/4" and 4" marks on the scoring board.

Fold the scored lines to create the box as shown above. For this design you will now glue the box together.

We used a 2 1/4" circle punch for the moon. You could use a 2 1/2" circle too. Cut out a "Happy Halloween"  tag that has a blank space on the left and finally a black bat is punched out.

You know I like to ink and that's what we've done here on the moon and the tag.  We also scored some lines in the bat so it would have some dimension but you can leave it flat.

I love using the foam tabs. It looks so much better than just gluing directly to the paper. If you want more dimension you could stack two foam tabs on top of each other.  Foam tabs are a must!

We're almost done now.  You can fit a regular Snickers bar or an almond Snickers bar into the box. A package of M&M's fit but it did stick out on the ends a bit.

Slide the snickers bar inside the box. It will fit perfectly.

We used 3/4" black grosgrain ribbon here. Just tie a knot instead of a bow.  Now you're done. Wasn't that easy.  This also makes a fun Halloween gift for teacher and it is inexpensive but special.

(Part 1) Halloween Pumpkin Party Favor, School Treat and Trick or Treat Goodie

These cute little paper pumpkins are the perfect gift for a school party. Just the right amount of candy in each pumpkin.  Would also be great party favor for your own Halloween party.  It's also an inexpensive but thoughtful gift for the teacher too.  All the directions for making the pumpkin are below.  Use your favorite scrapbook paper and ribbon.

 Use any color of scrapbook paper you like. We used a scoring board for this project. Can be purchased at most craft store. Just be sure to take a  coupon with you and you could end up paying about 12.99 for it. They make all your folds look perfect and professional.  We purchased this Jack-o-Lantern paper punch at JoAnn's. Again, make sure you have a coupon when buying this EK Success punch.

You can use double sided tape or a glue stick for this step.

We bought this 3" plastic bag at JoAnn's. 50 bags for 2.99. The perfect size for this pumpkin.

If you like you can use a 3/4" round paper punch for the top and only have one hole for the ribbon or you could use the paper punch with two holes. I found that with two holes I could tie a prettier bow and it was easier than with one hole.

Here is your finished product. I've used a grosgrain ribbon here and a wider wire edged ribbon. Either one works.  Make your pumpkins out of the traditional orange or any of your favorite colors.   Scrapbook paper with a pattern works nice too.  There are many different shades or orange out there, grey or silver  would be great too.

All of the candies above would be yummy for the bag of candy inside the pumpkins. Even the Hershey candy kisses fit nicely inside. Have you ever had the Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kiss? It's different but pretty good.  The white chocolate M&M's were one I hadn't tried before. It's good too. And of course there's always the traditional standby candy, the candy corn.  All of these candies are out and available now.

Hot off the press, as they say, are these Oreo Candy Corn cookies. Slowly becoming available everywhere but right now at Target. Harmon's grocery stores will be carrying them very soon also. (That's what the manager told me this morning.) Just wanted to point out two things.  The bag of  Candy Corn Oreos weighs 10.5 oz while the Halloween Oreos bags weigh 15.5 oz. The words "Limited Edition" is also printed on the package.  Are they any good? You be the judge....but two of the Oreo cookies, whether it be the Candy Corn Oreos or the Halloween Oreos, fit nicely in the 3" bags that we've put inside the pumpkins.

If you haven't spotted these Halloween Oreos at your favorite grocery store or even Target, they will be out very soon. Two Oreos is the pefect snack size for the kids, not too much, not too little.
