I love Halloween movies and make sure I watch all my favorites every year, many more than once. The Halloweentown movies are right up at the top. But I have to admit, Hocus Pocus is number one. It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown is a movie that you don't want to miss either. The collection below has something for everyone whether your a kid or an adult, whether you like to be scared or not. Have you introduced your kids to your favorite Halloween movies. Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker play the Sanderson
sisters, three resurrected witches who wreak havoc on Salem,
Massachusetts, 300 hundred years after they were hung. Ok, so they suck
the life force out of a child to rejuvenate themselves - which sounds
gruesome - but this movie is surprisingly funny, with a good mix of
humor, acting, special effects, music, and a fun plotline Source
It’s always Halloween in Halloweentown, an alternative world to our own
where ghosts, witches and werewolves co-exist. These four movies —
Halloweentown, Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge, Halloweentown
High and Return to Halloween Town — tell the story of powerful witch Aggie Cromwell (Debbie Reynolds)

Wait until dark is an excellent choice for Halloween night! (after the trick or treating, of course) Susie's husband is asked to hold a doll for a woman as they get off an
airplane. She disappears. Mike and Carlino are small time hoods who find
the woman's body in Susie's apartment, placed there by her partner,
Harry Rote. Susie's blindness is the key to them searching the apartment
for the doll that contains smuggled drugs. Mike pretends to be an old
friend of Susie's husband while her husband is away and together the
crooks invent a story of a police investigation of her husband that only
the discovery of the now missing doll can save him from. Rote is a
killer, and his stalking of Susie becomes more and more obvious as the
story unfolds, leaving us with the question, how does a blind woman
defend herself?
Victor (voiced by Johnny Depp) is a 19th-century villager who runs out
on his wedding rehersal to bride-to-be. When he jokingly places his
wedding band on a twig in the woods, he resurects a murdered girl
(Helena Bonham-Carter), who returns as a living corpse and insists that
SHE is now Victor's lawfully wedded wife. It's a gentle tale of romance,
optimism, and holding fast to your dreams when all seems lost. Source
“I got a rock,” says Charlie Brown, and we all feel badly for the
round-headed kid. In fact, after this show first aired, kids from all
over sent him candy out of sympathy. The Peanuts gang has definitely
earned our respect and admiration after nearly 40 years of ghost
costumes with too many holes, pumpkin heroes who never show up, and a
canine World War I Flying Ace fighting bravely for his country. No one
does it better than Charles Schulz, and this timeless classic shows the
influence of faith, failure and hope in our lives. Source
Jack Skellington, the pumpkin king of Halloweentown, is bored and
depressed about the same old build-up of Halloween every year. When he
stumbles through a magical door leading to Christmastown, a joyful,
happy place he tries to convince the bats, ghouls, and goblins of
Halloweentown to help him put on Christmas instead of Halloween. Source
A young boy, recently orphaned, is taken to England by his grandmother. At a hotel
in which they are staying, a group of witches have gathered to prepare a
plot to rid the world of all children. This movie is based on the
wonderful book by Roald Dahl and stars Anjelica Huston and Rown
Atkinson. Source
After Barbara and Adam Maitland were killed in a car
crash, they find themselves trapped as ghosts in their beautiful New
England farmhouse. Their peace is disrupted when a yuppie family, the
Deetzs, buy their house. The Maitlands are too nice and harmless as
ghosts and all their efforts to scare the Deetzs away were unsuccessful.
They eventually turn to another ghost ‘Beetlejuice’ for help…Source
In a land of monsters, James P. Sullivan is king. He and his coworker/
friend Mike Wazowski are two of many monsters that work for Monsters
Inc. a utility company that generates power for a very paranoid and
nervous city of monsters. This power, oddly enough, is generated from
the screams of children, which is produced by scaring them in their
sleep. One night, however, Sully uncovers a devious plot to rid Monster
city of it’s power problems, but in all the wrong ways. Together,
ironically, Sully and Mike will fight to protect the innocence of the
children they scare every night. Source
Furious that her dad only willed her his gloomy-looking mansion
rather than his millions, Carrigan Crittenden (Moriarty) is ready to
burn the place to the ground when she discovers a map to a treasure
hidden in the house.

Eddie Murphy stars as a real estate agent whose family
comes face-to-face with 999 grim, grinning ghosts in the creepy old
Gracey Manor! Now with the help of supernatural psychic Madame Leota
(Jennifer Tilly, LIAR, LIAR) they must hilariously battle to break the
mansion of its age-old curse ... and do it before the clock strikes 13!

I forgot to add one of most favorite Halloween movies-The Goonies. Thank Audrey for reminding me. The Goonies, has its share of bad guys (the Fratelli brothers
and their villainous mother), reluctant-hero good guys (the Walsh
bothers and their gang of friends), and lots of corny one-liners. Like
in an old-fashioned Hardy Boys or Nancy Drew plot, the Goonies need to
solve a problem: a corrupt corporate developer has bought out their
neighborhood and plans to flatten all their homes. Luckily, the beloved
gang stumbles on a treasure map. In the hopes of finding the treasure to
buy back their houses, the Goonies embark on their quest through
underground passages, aboard pirate ships, and behind waterfalls. Source
