Halloween Eek and Boo Hershey Nugget Wraps and Tags for a SWEET Halloween Treat

Here's a fun way to decorate and add pizzaz to a simple piece of chocolate......Hershey Chocolate Nuggets. You can spell out anything you want but since we wanted to create something sweet for Halloween, we spelled "boo" and "eek"  We've also included 12 different tags to top off this special treat.

We found these cute Halloween ceramic dishes at Michael's last year for $1 each. They may have them again this year.....check it out!

There are 12 tags all together. 8 of the tags are shown in photos above.

You can use the stripe one as a backer for the other tags. Or use it as shown above and write your own Halloween message to family, friends or teachers.

We put Halloween scrapbook paper on the backs of each of these tags. You can change the overall look of a tag by changing the color of the backing.  Use a 1 1/2" scallop tag for the top and a 2" scallop for the back. (EK Success punches)  And of course I inked the edges....just can't help myself.

These are the tags for the nugget trays. You can cut them small, using a 1 1/2" paper punch and then cutting a larger 2" back piece or cut then out with a 2" paper punch with no back piece. Use round or scallop punches. It's really up to you, whatever your heart desires. (or whatever punches you happen to have on hand)

For your tray, use a complimentary color to the papers that you've used for the Hershey Nugget wraps. Cut it 4 1/4" x 1 7/8" and score in 1/4" on each side and fold.

Cut the nugget papers 1" wide x 3" long. Use double sided tape when adhering the paper to the Hershey Nuggets. Put a strip of tape on one end and put that on the nugget and then put another strip of tape on the other end and secure it to the nugget.  If you're using the paper that has "boo" or "eek" then be sure to center the letter in the  middle of the nugget. Place all four pieces inside the tray and then put inside the pretzel bag, add tag and tie with twine.

This photo shows how to tie up your package. I found that the wide ribbon didn't work as well as the twine and punching two holes allowed the bow to stand straight from side to side instead of up and down....but I'm sure you're very good at tying bows!

    1. Hi Heather
The pretzel bags come 20 to a bag and can be found in most craft stores, even Walmart. Look on the cake decorating isle, where the Wilton products are.
      Thanks

  7. I can't seem to find the nugget size chocolates in Canada. Will these work with the flat fun size Hershey bars?

    1. Hello, the paper wraps aren't the right size for the flat Hershey bars (had another friend was trying to put them on that kind and said they didn't fit) I'm not sure if they will fit a fun size Hershey bar. The papers are 1" wide x 3" long. Good luck trying to find them.

  8. How do you ink the edges, and where did you get the black, orange and white bakers' twine? I found black/white, orange/white, but not all three colors together

    1. I ink the edges by holding the tags upright and running the edges through the ink pad, turning it in a circle as I do it. The orange, black and white twine is from The Twinery. I don't know if it is available year round but you can check on their web site. http://thetwinery.com/
