Valentine's Day Treat Holder for Class Treats-Easy to Make

This Valentine treat holder is modeled after British Christmas crackers  No, it isn't full of crackers but with candy and treats for a Valentine's Day gift. Very easy to make and fun to give away. Make some for a class treat too.

The tutorial said to use paper toilet rolls (tube)  but who has time to wait until you have the right amount of rolls saved up?  I just measured the circumference of a toilet roll and cut cardstock to match, rolled it in a circle and glued it together. I would suggest using a very strong tape or even a glue gun to secure it together.   (Toilet roll measured 5.5" around and 5" tall. I would cut your scrapbook paper a little wider (maybe 6" or 6 1/4") so you can easily glue it together.

I used two sheets of tissue paper, (you could use 1) cut 11" square and rolled it around the tube and taped it. Use ribbon or twine on each end, tied in a bow.  Then add a piece of cardstock or wrapping paper on top measuring  4" x 6" Them embellish it however you want. We punched out small hearts and used our tiniest paper punch to punch a hole in each side and then threaded twine through to make a banner. You'll need to tie a one-sided bow on each end.  We then put glue on each heart so it would stay on the roll as shown above.

The tag is one that we offered in our Cupid's Arrow/Pixie Stick freebie. Be sure to write  "to and from" before you attach the tag to make it easier to write it.

This sweet treat container is very easy to open, just pull on the tissue paper. You could make a bunch of these in no time at all. Use stickers or other fun things to decorate it.  Here is our inspiration for this project. There's a tutorial on the site too.
